Future Internet explained – today!
SAIL (Scalable and Adaptive Internet Solutions) has the pleasure to invite all interested students (MSc or PhD), post-doc and researchers to the SAIL Summer School.
During this week (June 25-28, 2012) you will get an unique insight in the latest research and trends around the Future Internet.
We all know Internet as an integral part of our daily lives. Internet has become a commodity, and is often viewed as a hot and modern technology. However, when you look into the technical details of how the Internet works, you find out that it is based on ideas and technologies that emerged more than 40 years ago. It is time for an upgrade!
The SAIL Summer School is open for students and researchers from all over Europe and the rest of the world. The program contains both lectures, hands-on exercises and keynote speakers. The SAIL Summer School will take place at the University of Cantabria. The program and further details are available at www.sail-project.eu/summerschool.
SAIL (Scalable and Adaptive Internet Solutions) is an EU-funded research project with 25 partners including leading ICT vendors, operators and universities. During two years SAIL has developed a number of key concepts for the Future Internet, and the SAIL Summer School gives you a unique opportunity to learn more about some of them.
In particular, we will cover topics such as Cloud Networking, Network Virtualization, Network of Information and Open Connectivity Services. The lectures will be carried out by top researchers in these areas. Additionally, there will be two keynote talks, given by reputable experts in the area.
Ph.D. students are invited to submit an extended abstract of their current research. Some contributions will be selected to be presented during a work-in-progress session. This offers an excellent opportunity for people working in these areas to exchange ideas with other colleagues on an open and informal environment. In addition, an award will be given to the best presented work.
